We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead and streamline our plant operations.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager will be the key pillar of the plant's day-to-day functioning — responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations including production, dispatch, transport, hygiene compliance, staff management, store management, and ERP-based reporting. This is a high-accountability leadership role requiring hands-on experience in dairy or food processing environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Operations & Production
➤ Oversee complete day-to-day plant operations including milk intake, processing, and packaging
➤ Monitor and optimize production workflows to meet daily targets with zero wastage
➤ Ensure machinery uptime and coordinate with maintenance team for preventive/breakdown maintenance
➤ Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all production lines
Transport, Dispatch & Vehicle Management
➤ Manage entire fleet of dispatch vehicles including scheduling, routing, and timely deliveries
➤ Maintain daily vehicle log — KM reading, diesel consumption, driver attendance and trip sheets
➤ Coordinate with sales team for demand-based dispatch planning and order fulfilment
➤ Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant
Hygiene, Food Safety & Compliance
➤ Ensure plant-wide hygiene standards as per FSSAI, HACCP, and internal quality protocols
➤ Conduct regular hygiene audits across production floors, cold storage, and kitchen areas
➤ Train staff on hygiene practices, PPE usage, and food safety SOPs
➤ Liaise with quality control team for milk testing, product quality, and compliance documentation
Staff & People Management
➤ Oversee recruitment, onboarding, shift scheduling, and performance of plant staff
➤ Manage staff quarters / residential facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and discipline
➤ Handle staff grievances fairly and promptly, maintaining a positive and productive work environment
➤ Coordinate with HR for training, appraisals, disciplinary matters, and labour compliance
Store & Inventory Management
➤ Manage raw material stores, packaging materials, and consumables inventory
➤ Ensure timely procurement, stock replenishment, and minimize dead stock / wastage
➤ Maintain accurate inward/outward records in ERP system on a daily basis
Kitchen & Facility Management
➤ Oversee staff canteen / kitchen operations ensuring nutritious meals and strict hygiene standards
➤ Monitor kitchen staff, meal planning, vendor management for canteen supplies
Gate & Security Management
➤ Manage plant gate protocols — visitor log, material inward/outward gate passes, and vehicle entry/exit
➤ Ensure security staff adhere to defined protocols and shift timings
➤ Coordinate with security agency for patrolling, CCTV monitoring, and incident reporting
ERP, Data & Reporting
➤ Maintain accurate daily data entry in ERP — KM readings, diesel records, milk intake, dispatch, and sales data
➤ Generate and present daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports to management
➤ Use Advanced MS Excel for data analysis, dashboards, and operational tracking
➤ Track key plant KPIs and flag deviations with corrective action plans
Policy, Timing & Schedule Management
➤ Enforce plant policies, timing schedules, and attendance discipline across all departments
➤ Prepare and circulate shift rosters, holiday schedules, and operational timetables
➤ Review and update plant SOPs, policies, and compliance documents periodically
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS
Education
Master's Degree — MBA (Operations/Agri-Business), M.Sc. Food Technology, or equivalent PG qualification
Experience
Minimum 5–10 years in plant/operations management in dairy, FMCG, or food processing industry
Technical Skills
Advanced MS Excel (Pivots, Dashboards, Formulas), ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Dairy-specific ERP)
Industry Knowledge
Dairy / milk processing operations, FSSAI norms, Cold Chain management, fleet/logistics
Languages
Hindi (required), English (preferred), regional lan
