Senior Resident Doctor-Emergency Department (Raipur)

Senior Resident (SR) in the Emergency Department (ED) is a postgraduate doctor responsible for the immediate assessment, stabilization, and management of patients with acute illnesses and life-threatening conditions. This role bridges the gap between residency and consultant-level practice, requiring advanced clinical decision-making and leadership skills in a high-pressure environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Emergency Care & Stabilization: Perform rapid clinical evaluations and initiate life-saving treatments for patients with trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other acute crises.

• Advanced Procedures: Independently perform and supervise procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, chest tube placement, resuscitation (CPR), and complex wound management.

• Triage & Management: Prioritize patient care based on urgency, manage department workflow, and oversee the stabilization of patients before they are transferred to other departments or specialists.

• Supervision & Mentoring: Guide and train junior residents, interns, and medical students. This includes providing bedside teaching and overseeing clinical shifts.

• Coordination of Care: Liaise with other hospital specialties (e.g., surgery, radiology, cardiology) to coordinate admissions, consultations, and comprehensive treatment plans.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), including medico-legal reports, discharge summaries, and incident investigations.
