**Position: Vice President – Sponge Iron Unit (SIU)**

**1. Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional for the position of **Vice President – Sponge Iron Unit (SIU)** to lead and manage the complete operations and maintenance of the Sponge Iron Unit, as well as the Raw Material Processing (RMP) unit.
The role demands strong leadership capabilities, deep technical expertise in sponge iron manufacturing, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence, safety, and profitability in a steel manufacturing environment.
**2. Key Responsibilities**
**A. Plant Operations**
- Lead and oversee end-to-end operations of the Sponge Iron Unit, including kilns and RMP unit
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business goals and industry standards
- Monitor plant performance and drive improvements in efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization
- Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, energy, and manpower
- Supervise and mentor a team of senior managers, engineers, and plant staff
- Maintain strict quality control for raw materials and finished goods
- Conduct regular plant inspections to identify and resolve operational issues
- Ensure adherence to production targets, SOPs, and safety protocols
- Implement best practices in process optimization and operational excellence
**B. Plant Maintenance**
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Ensure high equipment reliability and minimal plant downtime
- Oversee maintenance of kilns, machinery, and plant infrastructure
- Plan and manage shutdown activities as per operational requirements
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and PPE usage
- Collaborate with Operation Excellence and PM-CBM teams for continuous improvement
**C. General Management**
- Plan and manage operational and maintenance budgets
- Drive coordination across departments for seamless plant functioning
- Monitor and analyze plant performance data and implement corrective actions
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of plant activities
- Lead training and development initiatives for plant teams
- Present operational performance and KPIs to senior management
- Maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities as assigned by management
**3. Eligibility Criteria**
**Educational Qualification**
- Bachelor’s degree in **Mechanical / Chemical / Production Engineering (Mandatory)**
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Preferred)
- Certifications in **Lean, Six Sigma, TQM** (Preferred)
**Experience**
- Minimum **15+ years** of experience in steel plant operations
- Minimum **10+ years in senior leadership roles**
- **Mandatory experience in Sponge Iron Plant operations**
- Candidates must be from **Steel / Heavy Manufacturing industry only**
**4. Functional Skills**
- Strong expertise in Sponge Iron Unit operations and maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of kilns, RMP processes, and plant equipment
- Proven experience in plant management and operational excellence
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and operational reporting systems

- Only candidates currently based in **Chhattisgarh** will be considered

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
