**Job Title: Fitter – DRP Mechanical**
**Department: Sponge Iron (Steel Plant)**
**Location: Siltara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh**
**Job Summary:**
The Fitter – DRP Mechanical is responsible for maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of mechanical equipment in the Direct Reduction Plant (DRP) of the Sponge Iron unit. The role ensures minimum downtime, safe operations, and efficient functioning of plant machinery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Carry out routine maintenance and breakdown maintenance of DRP mechanical equipment.
- Perform fitting, assembly, dismantling, and alignment of machinery such as kilns, conveyors, gearboxes, and fans.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and ensure quick restoration of equipment.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Inspect and replace worn-out parts like bearings, seals, couplings, and belts.
- Maintain lubrication of machines and monitor equipment health.
- Assist in shutdown activities and major overhauling work.
- Ensure proper tightening, alignment, and balancing of rotating equipment.
- Follow SOPs for safe working practices in high-temperature and heavy industrial environments.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure proper tool handling.
- Coordinate with engineers and supervisors for maintenance planning.
**Key Equipment Exposure:**
- Rotary Kiln & Cooler systems
- Belt Conveyors & Bucket Elevators
- Gearboxes, Pumps, Blowers, and Fans
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
**Qualifications:**
- ITI (Fitter) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
**Experience:**
- **3 to 6 years** of experience in Sponge Iron / Steel / Heavy Industry
- Experience in DRP (Direct Reduction Plant) preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
