Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Executive / Senior Purchaser for procurement of HMS Scrap and Aluminum Scrap across India. The candidate must have strong market knowledge, supplier network, logistics understanding, and negotiation skills to fulfill large-scale monthly procurement requirements for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of HMS Scrap and Aluminum Scrap from domestic suppliers, traders, yards, recyclers, and industrial sources.
- Ability to fulfill monthly procurement targets of:
- Minimum 10,000 MT of HMS Scrap
- Minimum 100 MT of Aluminum Scrap
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships across India.
- Identify competitive buying opportunities based on market trends, freight cost, and regional pricing.
- Strong understanding of logistics and transportation planning.
- Example: Ability to analyze whether purchasing material from South India is commercially viable considering freight impact for supply to Kolkata or other destinations.
- Coordinate with transporters, logistics partners, and warehouse teams for smooth movement of material.
- Monitor daily scrap market prices, import trends, steel market movement, and regional demand-supply conditions.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality specifications with suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement with proper documentation and commercial compliance.
- Conduct regular supplier visits and market surveys.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 3–8 years of experience in HMS Scrap and/or Aluminum Scrap purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of Indian scrap market, suppliers, recyclers, and trading ecosystem.
- Excellent understanding of freight costing, logistics optimization, and transportation economics.
- Existing supplier network in North, East, South, and West India will be preferred.
- Ability to work under procurement targets and pressure.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in steel plants, scrap trading companies, recycling units, or metal procurement firms preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of scrap market and port operations.
- Understanding of scrap grades, quality inspection, and commercial valuation.
- Good analytical and decision-making capability.
- Proficiency in Excel and procurement reporting.
