VMC Programmer

**Position:** Senior VMC Operator / Programmer

**Location:** Raipur, Chhattisgarh

**Reports to:** Production Manager / Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled **4-Axis VMC Operator** specifically experienced with **Haas controllers**. The ideal candidate will not just run parts but will be fully capable of manual G-code programming, setup for complex 4th-axis rotary attachments, and ensuring the long-term health of the machine through rigorous maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

**1. Programming & Setup**

• Write and edit **G-code and M-code** programs directly at the Haas wireless intuitive probing system (WIPS) or via CAM software.
• Set up and align **4th-axis rotary tables** or indexers.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures based on material (EN8, Mild Steel, etc.) and part complexity.
• Perform "First Article" inspections to ensure the program and setup meet precision tolerances.

**2. Machine Operation**

• Operate Haas VMC (e.g., VF-2, VF-4, or similar) to manufacture high-precision components for agricultural machinery.
• Monitor tool wear and adjust offsets to maintain part dimensions throughout a production shift.
• Optimize spindle speeds and feed rates to maximize tool life and reduce cycle times.

**3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting**

• Perform **daily maintenance** checks: coolant levels, oil levels, and air pressure.
• Conduct weekly/monthly deep cleans, including chip removal and checking way-lube systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical or electrical alarms on the Haas control.
• Maintain a clean and organized "5S" workspace to prevent accidents and machine damage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• **Experience:** Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Haas 4-axis VMCs.
• **Technical Knowledge:** Deep understanding of blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• **Math Skills:** Strong proficiency in shop trigonometry and decimal math.
• **Hardware Mastery:** Expert-level knowledge of Haas controls and 4th-axis indexing logic.
• **Tooling:** Experience with various inserts, end mills, and induction-hardened material machining.
