**Job Overview**
Vandana Ispat is seeking a highly experienced and result-driven General Manager (GM) to lead and oversee overall operations within the steel/iron sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, operational efficiency, team leadership, and ensuring the organization achieves its business objectives while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage end-to-end plant and business operations
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and profitability
- Oversee production, supply chain, and administrative functions
- Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and cost optimization
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements
- Manage and mentor departmental heads and cross-functional teams
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
- Analyze operational data and present performance reports to senior management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and business expansion
- Ensure efficient resource utilization and operational excellence
**Key Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 15+ years of relevant experience in the steel/iron industry
- Proven experience in managing plant operations or similar leadership roles
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and business operations
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple responsibilities
