Job Seeker Safety
Most employers in Raipur are genuine, but job scams do exist. This guide helps you recognise fake offers, verify a company, and apply safely. Read it before sharing money or documents with anyone.

The golden rule
Never pay anyone to get a job. A real employer pays you — you do not pay them. Any “registration fee”, “security deposit”, “training kit”, or “document charge” asked before joining is a strong sign of a scam.
Common warning signs of a fake job
- You are “selected” without any real interview or test.
- The offer asks for money to release your offer letter, ID card, or first salary.
- The pay sounds far too high for the work or your experience.
- Communication happens only on personal WhatsApp/Gmail, never an official company email or number.
- You are pushed to decide “today” with urgent pressure.
- You are asked to share OTPs, bank passwords, UPI PINs, or scans of original documents up front.
- The “company” has no traceable address, website, or verifiable presence.
How to verify a company before applying
- Search the company name with words like “reviews”, “careers”, and “fraud”.
- Check for a real office address, official website, and a working phone number.
- Confirm the recruiter’s email is on the company domain, not a free personal account.
- For registered companies, you can look up the entity on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) portal.
- Ask for the job details in writing and read them carefully before committing.
Protect your personal information
- Share documents only after you are confident the employer and role are genuine.
- Never share OTPs, banking PINs, or passwords with a “recruiter” — no legitimate employer needs them.
- Prefer applying through official company channels or the apply method shown on the listing.
If you have been targeted
If you have lost money or shared sensitive details, you can report cyber fraud on the national portal at cybercrime.gov.in or call the cyber-crime helpline 1930. Keep screenshots and payment records as evidence.
